Penguin Trivia...

Did you ever wonder why there are no dead penguins on the ice in Antarctica where do they go? Wonder no more! It is a known fact that the penguin is a very ritualistic bird which lives an extremely ordered and complex life.

The penguin is very committed to its family and will mate for life, as well as maintaining a form of compassionate contact with its off spring throughout its life. If a penguin is found dead on the ice surface, other members of the family and social circle have been known to dig holes in the ice, using their vestigial wings and beaks, until the hole is deep enough for the dead bird to be rolled into and buried. From that day on, the group will take care of the female penguin and her babies.

Penguins belong to different groups within a colony and they select their leaders. There is one special penguin selected for each ritual. One will lead the group in prayer and another will act as a judge and another will represent the defendant. If a defendant is found guilty, he is punished by the entire group.

If a death is from natural causes, they have a special way to treat the dead ( as we have services for man) they have something much the same, for the Penguins,

The male penguins then gather in a circle around the fresh grave and
sing: "freeze a jolly good fellow." " Then they kick 'em in the ice hole."

Hey ... I just write the stuff, it’s up to you if you want to believe it or not!
