Songs in your Heart

It is said, that everyone has a song in their heart, would you like to hear me sing mine? That’s what I thought you would say! You made the right choice, I never could sing or carry a tune, not even in a bucket. Once, a life time ago, I sang a song to my wife "Peggy", it was called (Peg-O-my Heart). Just a few weeks ago. I tried to sing it to her again, as it was our Sixty Second Anniversary. She put her hands over her ears so she couldn’t hear me and the little dog sat there and howled. Could that have meant that they didn’t want to hear me sing?

Now that I think back, the family doesn’t let me sing along with them when they sing Happy Birthday to someone in the family. The last time the birthday song was sang here, I was sent down to the basement for something. As soon as I was down there, they started to sing. That should tell you something about my singing voice.

Not only, can I not sing, but I find that I can’t dance any more and I thought I was pretty good at one time! If you have it, use it or lose it! Thank God I can still do a few things, That is, If God will help me to remember them!

A million years ago, Man didn’t have to worry about remembering things, only to run if a Dinosaur was after him. I really don’t know if man was around a million years ago, but in the movies, he was, and that is good enough for me! I should just ask Peggy, she knows about everything!

I wonder if there were any good Motels back then? Some people found shelter in caves and in old hollowed out logs. This is only a theory, not recorded in history. You do know what a theory is, don’t you? A theory is what you think you have done in your pants, when a Dinosaur is chasing you, but can’t stop long enough to check it out. Like I said, it’s just a theory.

From a million years ago, up to last night, when I was watching a movie about men on the moon searching for water. The heat from the day and the cold of the night caused condensation on their equipment and water was to be had, But all things that come easy, never work out in the movies. Three out of four of the men drank the water and they all turned into a mushy mass of things with bugs. Those things were in my bed all night until I got up and had some peanut-butter and crackers. Or maybe it was the tuna fish and pickle sandwich before going to bed. Then after trying for hours to go back to sleep, came them dark shadows floating around playing ping pong with huge bats or maybe they were snow shoes. Hey, If I am going to have night mares I am going to get my money’s worth….

The worst part was when I woke, I was in a Mortuary setting on a red velvet chair. Want to know what I did then? I ran like hell until a kiss was received from a beautiful princes and it woke me up.

A young and beautiful princess ? could I have my fairy tales mixed up?

Now you people go on doing what ever you were doing, I want to go back to bed and finish my dream,

Here Princess! here Princess! come on back my love. Oh, there you are, thanks for waiting Peg-o-my heart.

“Ben”
