A heart beat away.

A Heart beat away from going over the edge.

Close calls come many times in ones life and most of the time you never know it. They come and go so fast and those little mistakes you make with out giving it a second thought. All the close misses you don’t know about that are caused by others because they are in too much of a hurry or doing something they should not be doing while driving. Yes, when you are in your car. Your life, the lives of the those that are with you, are the most dangerous.

Why? Because everyone is in too much of a hurry and they want to save as much time as they can for other things. But ask yourself this, is time really all that important? You make an appointment to see a Doctor or a Dentist or anyone else that sets up an appointment for you. Like having a appointment to get your hair done. What is so important that an appointment be kept to the minute. You will always have to wait for that appointment with your doctor or Dentist. Life or death is one thing, but the chance of taking a life away for someone, or putting them in danger, just so you can be on time. worth it?

Want to know just how bad it is out in traffic, do like I did! I went to one of the parks and sat on a bench so I could see a busy intersection. I could not believe all the near misses and things people were doing while driving. Speeding would have to be number one, changing lanes was a bad one, turning from the wrong lane was another. Trying to beat a red light was one of the worst. People driving and using a cell phone or texting, combing of hair, checking their make up, lighting a cigarette, cutting off the people crossing a street. Any or all of these could have caused an accident or taken a life.

I thought to myself, where are the police and why are they not seeing this stuff. I have decided that driving a car in a city needs to be changed.! All transportation in and around a town, with the exception of an emergency vehicles, should be by public transportation. Parking lots at each end or entrance to a town, should have a parking lot. This alone could and most likely eliminate most of the accidents that accrue. Let the city and businesses of the town pay for busing!

People should also travel between towns, by public transportation, Save on money, Save on gas, Save on injuries, save a life, there will be no end to saving. Nations all around the world do this and it works for them, why would it not work for us? I for one, would not have the expense of owning a car, needing a license and wasting energy. One could still own a car and travel the highways to any where. But the little extra time it would take, to ride a bus, would be well worth it. While this alone can not be the answer to all the problems, it would be a start.
