When should you give a Bear hug and who should give it to you.
This morning I took my wife to a Doctor’s appointment and while we were there, I ran into an old friend. Let’s tell it right, it was an old female friend.
Now I am one of those people that has an out going personality and when I set down, I will start a conversation with any one, any where.
At first we never recognized each other. After talking for a few minutes we both realized that we were friends of long ago. She jumped up, everything that was on her lap, fell to the floor or went flying across the room and she grabbed me, and I swear, I thought I had been challenged to a wrestling match and was trying to fight her off. We almost went to the floor a couple of times, in that waiting room. Needless to say, it attracted the attention of everyone there.
When she turned me lose, my knees buckled and I required help to get back to where I was setting, I normally have to use oxygen. But I had left the small tank I carry, with me, in the car. My wife was in with her doctor and had she been with me, she would have known what to do. I was out of breath and gasping for air, I couldn’t speak a word and yet the questions came faster than ever. I am sure she wasn’t aware that I was having a hard time of breathing. A quick thinking nurse, brought some oxygen to me and in few minutes I was getting better.
For you people that meet old friends, at un-expecting times, Remember, these people can be old and you can never tell about their health conditions. Approach with caution and please do not wrestle with them.
Now I am not a student of wrestling and I weigh two hundred & thirty pounds and she was a lot heaver than I, but where do get a hold on a women when you wrestle her in public. I got a hold on her hair, but it came off, as it was a wig. About that time she was called to see her doctor. When my wife joined me in the waiting room, I told her what had happened and she pushed me to the car, in a wheel chair.
Now I am wondering, was this women just glad to see me, or did she have another reason for the attack ? My memory has gotten so bad, I have forgotten many things. Once, when I was small, I broke a women’s window and never paid for it, Now I am eighty four years old, do you think I should get a body guard?
Have you noticed, when one gets older, you don’t have to look for problems, the problems will find you. Problems and troubles are two different things. Problems are for anyone, Trouble is for you alone.
