Sounds that you can see….
It’s all around us, every where you look. It comes from the sides , the front and the back, under and over the top. You hear it inside and out.
I had an appointment at the VA Hospital, just east of Sturgis, Monday morning, the first day of the rally and it really wasn’t too bad getting around. But leaving the hospital and getting to I-90 was something else. Had to stop and visit my sister Roberta.

By eleven a.m. I was on the interstate heading back to Rapid. They were saying that there wasn’t as many people as there was last year at the start of the Rally. In my opinion it was packed tighter together and maybe more. It is only about two miles from the hospital to interstate ninety, but it took a long time to get there. Most motor cycles were doing a great job of getting around and playing it safe. Once I got onto the interstate, it was full of motor cycles as far as one could see, in front and behind. But the traffic moved along at a fare pace. I stayed in the right hand lane all the way home and thousands and thousands of motor cycles were passing me.
There have been a lot of arrests made for a number of things, several accidents but no deaths reported by Tuesday. There was a report of one of a guy who was traveling in the wrong lane and he was hit by an 18 wheeler and he is in critical condition. The truck driver tried to miss him and overturned. Tomorrow is Sunday, the last day of the Rally< now another report of someone in a car hitting a motorcycle from the rear and killing the rider, who was from Nebraska. A couple of Gang members got into a fight in Sturgis and each got stabbed a couple of times. Both were treated and released from the hospital.
My Son in-law, Bill, had to go up to the VA Hospital at Ft. Meade on Wednesday and I believe it will be a lot worse then. He told me, Cathy was taking a day off and she will do the driving. There is no one safer to ride with than Cathy!
When I got home, which was around noon, I was totally worn out. Had to have some blood work done so I couldn’t eat or drink anything until I got home. But my sister gave me some coffee and a donut in Sturgis and that held me until I got home. I must have slept the rest of the day even if it was up and down for me.
These past two days have been nice, not too hot and we have had a small amount of rain. That is all for now. Go ahead, Scratch your behind and let go of the gas, you are in the clear..
