" Singing off key "

My little dog can sing, when he hears certain music playing on a radio, he will set up and listen to it. Then sometimes he will start to howl. If a person will howl, he will join them. Don’t know if it is just a few notes that he hears that makes him do this, or is he really trying to sing? I do know that if you pet him while he sings he will wag his tail.

When you talk to him, he will turn his head from side to side while looking at you, as if he is hearing you but not understanding what you are saying. He is able to understand some of the things that you want him to do without giving hand signals. He will not do anything if another dog is in the room. but people do not bother him. Of course, if a child is around he will find a place to hide, where they can not reach him.

When I drive the car, he likes to stand behind the steering wheel and against my chest, with both front paws on the wheel, to feel the turns. He will look out the side window at the driver in the next lane, as if to say: look at me, I am driving! He brings more joy to life than most other things.

When someone ask me to smell something, he has to smell it also. It is the same with food. I gave him a taste of beer once and he never wants any more of that.

He is so well mannered and the best of all kids to have along. I can take him anywhere and no one pays any attention to him as they hardly knows he is around. In a waiting room I keep him out of sight under my jacket. Most doctors don’t mind you having your dog with you, but the staff in the waiting rooms have fits when they see one.

If my dog is not welcome somewhere, than I shouldn’t be there either. I always have him on a leash, but one time when we were in the room waiting for my wife, he got away and went looking for her. He found her in one of the Holding Pens and all the staff were having a great time with him. But the old Hen at the reception desk, put the two of us out in the parking lot. But that was okay with the dog, he needed to go…..

Love is always close by, if you know what to look for.

Come on sweetie, let’s go home!
