Have you ever hollered into a canyon or a place with a dead end, and heard your Echo, come back to you. Is it possible for another person to hear your Echo? Was what you heard an echo.
Sounds and words will travel across the water with ease and people will hear them, just as if you were standing close by. Yes, it is fun to hear your own voice come back to you. Some people hear the same words being repeated, over and over. In some places your voice can be bounced back and forth on canyon walls, and heard many times. The average person will hear the Echo only once because most canyons will produce an echo only once.
What if you hollered a question into a canyon and the voice came back with an answer to your question. What would you do then? Well for one thing, I would thank them! That is if you had any teaching at all. You have to remember to use good manners all the time. Of course, if an Echo gives you an answer, then it is not an Echo.
This elderly man who lived in a city was being over-worked, very tired and needed some rest really bad. His doctor suggested that he go out in wilderness, and get away from all sounds that were heard in the city each day, so he could relax and become healthy person again. But the man said he really didn’t know much about being in the wilderness or camping. The doctor said: Take some one with you that can be your guide and do these things for you.
Than you can spend even more time resting. But who did he know, that was a person, who could do all of this stuff. An old friend had a son that was always out some where for weeks at a time, He would be well trained for living in the wild.
But it was doubtful that he would be compatible with an older man. And the boy only ate fast food things, like sodas, Candy bars, potato chips and cookies. He wouldn’t be able to cook, to please the taste of another person. What if he were to take a third person along that could cook. That person would have had to been cooking for a long-long time. Like maybe, thirty or forty years of cooking.
Some one in that age group would need special things to survive in the out doors. A good bed to sleep in, plenty of hot water to bathing and able to stand any bugs or flies. A camping trailer would be needed for that. The camper would have a TV and radio and the things found in a home, that would be the same as being in the city. No, that won’t work for a guy that needs plenty of rest. Maybe someone could bring the daily meals and other needs, to a place close by, where the guide could pick them up and bring then to the camp. Meals could be pre-cooked and just needed to be warmed up. Hey, that sounds like a good idea!
The day came when they started out for the wilderness and when the camp was all set up and they were enjoying the scenery and quietness. No other people were around for miles and miles, Night came and after the guide went to sleep, He snored the whole night through, and the next day the man that needed the rest, looked worse than he had the day before. The second night, the guide was sent to sleep, a half mile away. But he slept close to the rim of the canyons and the snoring drifted down into the canyon and an echo was heard at the camp site and again, kept the man awake.
The guy had-had enough, so they packed up and went back to town, Then the doctor suggested a ski lodge that was closed for the season, where no one would be there, but the landlord that kept it in shape. Well this was perfect for the first few days, then came sawing and gathering of wood for the winter months, the hammering while doing repairs. Then it was quite again, so quiet, it was disturbing. But the man adjusted to it and got some much needed rest. Then came the third week at the resort.
In some far away place in that Mountain range, another person started to holler into a canyon and an echo was once again heard. The poor guys nerves were almost shattered. He returned to the city and sounds proof his bed room, he got some really good ear plugs and pillows that could keep out the sound. Days went by, then weeks and months and he slept soundly all that time. Now many years have come and gone, and the guy woke-up, he had a long white beard, and finger nails so long and heavy, that he wasn’t able to lift his own hands.
The bed room and the house, had rotted awsy and was falling apart. He had no idea how many years had passed. The town that was one there, had disappeared and nothing looked the same. It looked as if a third, forth and fifth, world war had been fought there and all life was lost! There were animals around, but no people. That was when the old Gray Rabbit, heard sounds coming from deep under that brushy beard , and he decided to dig into it and find out what it was. He hollered down into the brush and an Echo came back! As he removed the leaves and stuff, he saw some eyes looking back at him, than a nose and a mouth, and the mouth said; thank you, it was getting hard to breath under here.

Now if you believe in Fairy tales, Rabbits have always had an important part in most all fairy tales, and if you would believe in them, you will believe anything that I say, My tales don’t come from Fairies, they come from the Echo chambers of the Grugges..
Echo chambers are deep holes in the ground made by Grugges, and this is where they live a very private life. The only time you will ever see a Grugge, is on the fifth Wednesday of December when it is sixty below and windy.
But that story is going to have to wait until I get a bath and a hair cut. The lady says I smell really bad. My breath is like a flame thrower and there are things in my mouth that I need to get rid of.
You-all Come back later and I’ll give you girls a hugs and kisses
