Checking a signature on a check.

Checking the signature on a check at the Check out:

While picking up a few things at a Hardware store, My wife who appears to be the keeper of the check book, wrote a check and handed it to the girl at the cash register.

The girl ask if everything on the check was correct, and the wife said yes. Then I ask the girl if I could see the check and she handed it to me, then I ask my wife if this was her true name on the check and the girl got all excited and asked what was wrong?

I told her "Nothing was wrong". Just that the old girl had been following me around all morning and I was wondering who she was?
