Overshoes and Ear Muffs

These are two things you don’t see much of anymore. When I was young I always seemed to lose them somewhere, most of the time it was at school. It got so bad I had to quit going there.

But that was okay, I knew more than the teachers and the other kids didn’t seem to be interested. There is not many of us smart kids left in this country, I am the only one left in this state, that I know of and I think there is a couple of them in the east coast somewhere. I heard that there was one in Salt Lake city, but he was killed in a traffic accident.

I saw where someone wrote, what was called “ A book of knowledge” But it has to be un-true as no one ever ask me for any information for this book. Some people will say anything, if they get paid for it and then they will say too much!

To you that took my overshoe way back in school, The first one walked away with two overshoes for the right foot, bet you did know that ! The second time someone took my over shoe, you took one with the buckles missing and you left me one that had a hole in it. Want you to know, I got my foot wet and caught a cold and was sick for over a week.

Overshoes weren’t the only thing I lost at school. Once I lost my little sister. She was in kindergarten and I was responsible in seeing that she got home safely.
After school one day, I couldn’t find her anywhere. Went back inside the school and ask a number of people if they has seen her, but no one had! The Teachers and the Principal made a search and then the police were brought in. Another search was made and in the girls bath room, someone was heard sniffling. She was found setting on a stool, a teacher had put her there and gone off and forgotten about her. It appears that her little short legs could not be seen when looking under the door of the stall.

I was late getting home with my little sister. The Principal had called and told mother what had happened. Mother told Dad, Dad went down to the school to punch the Teacher in the nose. The Principal called again The teacher retired along with the Principal, Mother is subsisting for a teacher. Dad is still in jail and I have just finished my third year in the fifth grade.

Oh, I still don’t have any overshoes.
