We have Model Citizens in our town.
When you have to go, you have to Go! But first take a look around and be sure that you are not going on some ones front steps or close to a police station.
I took Peg for an eye check-up, this morning and had a great visit with another couple. The guy said his wife had just picked him up at the police station. He was taken there last evening and kept all night. He said, he was on his way home around eight P.M. and had to go really bad, So he pulled over to the curb where there was some tall brush, moved over to the passenger side, opened the car door and let’ er go.
On the other side of the bushes (actually they were Lilac bushes) sat several women around a table visiting and drinking Sin Tea. One of them heard some sounds and peeked through the bushes and saw him. He said his bladder was so full he just couldn’t stop. The first thing he knew a police car was there, one of the ladies had called the police.
Two policemen grabbed him and shoved him into the back seat of the police car and away they went. On the way to the station, one of the officers called a towing service and told them to come and get this mans car. He said, at the Police station it was like a animal house. The officers put him in a holding cell until they were ready to talk with him. They forgot that he was there and went on doing other things. Later they were putting some else in this cell and realized they had forgotten about first guy being there.
They were going to book and release him, but some one would have to come and get him and be responsible for him. They tried to contact his wife but couldn’t reach her. She was out looking for him, fearing that he had been in an accident! Her cat had gotten away from her while she was looking for her husband and she was going around the neighborhood searching for her cat. And the next thing she knew the police were upon her. Then, she was being taken to the station until things could be straightened out.
A daughter was called and on the way to the station, she was pulled over for speeding. Then the daughter’s husband, who was a police officer himself, was summoned to the City Jail. Now we have the makings of a good old family reunion. It seems that every one there owed each other a favor and wanted to collect it. At the hearing, all were released with the exception of convict number one. He had to pay a fine of $ 75 (seventy five dollars) and was heavily lectured on right and wrong. But he would have to spend the night in jail, When the wife got home, the cat was waiting for her. The following morning the wife picked her husband up at the jail house and then they came to keep an eye appointment. New friends are easy to find if you look for them!
