" Yesterday was a bad one "

My wife had to make a few stops at some stores down town. So I rode along. I sat in the car while she would do what ever it was that she was going to do in this store.

While setting there, I saw a couple of old friends go into a bar just a few doors down the street. Knowing my wife and the amount of time it takes for her in a store. I thought, why not pop in and say hello to my friends.

I knew that if I went in there, I would have a drink or two with them guy’s. After saying hi, and a beer or two, I went back to the car and she still hadn’t returned. So I went back to the bar and had another round with my friends.

Then more old friends came in and I had a few more. I went out to the car a second time, but the car was gone. She had driven away with out me. Maybe one of the boys will give me a ride home, thinking this, I went back to the bar. Three or four of the guys said they would drive me home, but I had to wait until they were ready to leave.

“Well”, time passed and the bartender said we had to leave as he was closing the bar. The guy I was riding with, had a little too much to drink, and he didn’t want to get caught driving in that condition, so he drove without his head lights turned on.

At an intersection, the street lights were blinking, so he slowed and looked both ways, then continued to drive. That was when a light pole hit us.

We backed up and made our way around the pole and no one saw us. Every so often we had to stop and relieve ourselves, that was when I learned his brakes need some work done on them. They squealed and we bounced up over the curb a few times.

He stopped the car and let me out. That was when this Dog took after me. Someone in the block must had gotten a dog, as I don’t remember of anyone on this block having one. Next I fell over a childes tricycle, them dam neighbor kids never pick up their toys and take them home. So I picked it up and put it in a trash can, that will teach them. Then the lights came on in several homes.

I stumbled up the steps to the front door. That should have been a clue right there, as we do not have any steps going up to our front door. I fumbled around, trying to find my key, but couldn’t find it. So I went around to the back to use that door, No door there, but I found the one on the side.

I tried it and it wasn’t locked, so I went in. I fell over something like a small table or a umbrella rack. Got up and got my bearings and took a few steps forward and turned left, that was when I bumped my head on the wall and it was bleeding. I knew there were first aid things in the bath room, so I headed that way. I found a light switch and turned it on, I was in the kitchen, I didn’t recognize anything as it had all been changed around.

The next thing I knew, an elderly looking lady was standing there watching me. She led me to the bath room and put a Band-Aid on my forehead and them lead me to a bed room, undressed me and tucked me in. The next morning, after breakfast, she drove me home. She never ask one question or did she say anything.

I wonder, Have I done this before?

People are so kind and considerate at this time of the year. Be true to your own and may god bless your friends for all the help they offer.
