My best days in the Army were the time I was in the Brig. The beds were not as good as the ones in the barracks but the food was better, The Brig had it’s own kitchen, cooks and real table cloths with cloth napkins.
I’m not sure why I am in here, the swelling in my head is slowly going down and there has only been six officers in to talk to me. Not one of them has told me what my rights are or what to expect. I have not been able to understand any of the things they were talking about. Can a person have a lawyer, when in the brig and the army?
Mom, where are you, I need you now, so get your tail here fast! I have to go to the bathroom and they won’t let me go. They gave me really small tin cup and told me to use it, But Mom, what I have to do, can’t be done in a tin cup. And Mommy, what ever that girl said is a lie.
I was with two of my buddies as the army said: not to go into this town alone. They never said why, only not to enter the town without an escort. The people down here in the south are really different. Some do not have legs. Other have parts of their ears and arms missing and everyone seems to have a crooked nose and at least one black eye. Everyone is ready to fight the minute you get close to them. I think the army uses this town as a training camp to train the soldiers.
I can remember this young blonde girl that was driving by, she stopped and ask if we wanted a lift. Of course we did, so we got into her car and that is the last thing I can remember, I don’t know if my buddies are alive or dead. No one around here will tell me anything. No one will even speak to me, everyone just looks at me and shakes their head as they go by.
I wonder, “did I cross the border” and get tossed into a Mexican brig? Momma, You had better bring a clean change of cloths for me, when you come. Sorry, but I just couldn’t hold it any longer, There has to be forty thousand flies sharing this cell with me, not to mention those things crawling on the floor. This place is so bad, I think the guards that work here are also being punished.

Maybe you should pay Dad’s fine and get him out of jail and see if he can help. He should know something about the law, he has been in or around it most of his life.
I joined the army, to learn a trade, I have been a soldier for the last couple of months and all I know is how to march and peel potatoes. Where did I go wrong?
One day when we were out marching, the sergeant said to go left and a lot of the guys went right, I should have went with those that went left.
As of today, I have been in this army for three years, six months, fourteen days. five hours. Where are you Momma ? It’s me, your only son, help!
It may interest you to know, this soldier has been moved to another prison over a year ago, and some how we have lost track of him, The search continues and we will keep you informed. …..
