Once upon a time in the Great forest of Miss Counts, there lived a tiny wolf with the biggest heart that anyone ever had. She was filled with love and kindness for everyone, She would fight evil no matter where it was found, No one really knew this little wolf’s true name. but it was Hennery Etta.
Henrietta lived all alone, with the exception of all her friends in the forest and they were always at Hennery Etta’s little cottage, visiting and playing. Hennery Etta loved to bake and cook and her home was always filled with the smell of good things to eat.
She was always humming or singing and dancing. There was s always a big smile on her face to show just how happy she was. Her home was never without sunshine and that fresh spring air smell. Birds of all kinds could be found setting on her window sills, singing, most anytime
Her flowers were the prettiest in the whole forest and her door was always open to friend who wanted something to eat or a place to sleep. She would care for the sick and take care of the cuts and bruises.
She would give to you, anything she had, if you were to ask for it. She would sew and mend clothing for them and even make new things for them wear. This place was truly a Shangri-La for Hennery Etta and the forest animals .
Then one day, some one new came down the path, It was a nasty old wolf dressed as Goldie lock’s grandmother, He was carrying a basket full of cookies, fruit and flowers. It looked as if his garter belt had came un-snapped or broken, as his stockings were down around his ankles and dragging on the ground. And his ears and tail weren’t hidden very well. Not sure if he had shoes on as the dragging stockings were hiding his feet.
Everyone just stood there and looked at each other for a minute or two, then someone yelled “Wolf” and the small animals ran in every direction, But one was a little too slow, a worn hog had been caught!
Hennery Etta came out of her little cottage with a cast iron fry pan in hand and she swung it and hit the nasty old wolf on the head and got him again on her back swing. She hit him again and again until he was on his hands and knees, pleading with her to stop. As he lay there on the ground, the animals gathered around him and were saying “He don’t look so mean or bad now” But he made a grab for another animal, and that iron pan hit him again and he went flying for a loop or two.
The cottage didn’t have a basement or a cellar or a place to keep the wolf confined, so he was taken to a near-by cave, where a steel chain anchored to the wall and around his neck, would keep him there. But again, when someone got too close, he would grab them. This time, both hands and feet were anchored to the wall with a short steel chains.
Each day, someone would take food and water to the wolf, and talk to him, trying to teach him what was good and what was bad, and if he never paid any attention to what they were saying, he got bonged with the cast Iron pan! He was learning, but it was going to take a while!
The mean old wolf had been hit so many times that even his bumps had bumps. Slowly his preference for food was changing, now he preferred to eat cakes, sweet breads and rolls, bread with peanut butter and cookies along with other pastry. This he liked more than the meat of small animals.
Then one day a strange looking space ship appeared, those inside it, came out and measured and weighted the old wolf, They had a conference, and took more measurements of the wolf and then they flew away. But it wasn’t long before they came back, They put the wolf in a cage and put the cage inside of the space craft and flew away again, That wolf was never seen in the forest of Miss Counts again.
Then one day it was discovered that a fence had been built all around the forest and people were seen standing on the outside of the fence and looking in. People had infringed so close to the forest that all the animals were in danger, so a fence was build to protect them and it is now called a Zoo.
Now all the animals in the forest are putting shades on their widows and wearing bathing suits when they go swimming. But deep in the forest where the little cottage can be found. Life hasn’t changed. One can still smell the fresh bread and pastry baking! I am going to stop here, I am hungry
