"Back in the Nineteenth Century"

Back in the Nineteenth century, in a small European country, a couple named Johanson, were working their farm.

One evening at the supper table, Mrs. Johanson announced that she was going to have a baby. Mr. Johanson just about choked to death on the food in his mouth. At the same time, the hired man was sinking in his chair and almost under the table. Old man Johanson held a table knife in his hand and was pointing it at the hired man, who was sneaking off,
to his room to pack.

This all left, Mrs. Johanson, in a bit of confusion. It appeared that Mr. Johanson had one thing on his mind and the hired man was feeling guilty about something else.

As time passed,  Mrs. Johanson gave birth to a son. He was a beautiful child and they named him Nelson.  Nelson  grew up on the farm and worked along side his father and mother, Nelson  had no brothers or sisters and only one friend, who lived on a farm close by. She was a girl about the same age as Nelson. She was very pretty and every inch a girl.

They both attended  the same small country school and Nelson was the best student in the school. When they graduated from the eighth grade, the closest high school was in another town, some thirty miles away, and Nelson would spend the week there, and return home, to the farm, on week ends and holidays. The girl attended another school in a larger city and was going to go to college there.  She also came home on week-ends and holidays,

Together they went to dances or a movie and other special events. They would often go skinny dipping, in a dam on the farm and had been seen running in a field, naked.

After high school , Nelson stayed on the farm and worked with his father and mother. They were getting too old to keep working the farm and Nelson didn’t want to work it alone. It was sold for a tidy sum, but the buyer’s couldn’t raise all the money and had to  back away.

A newly married couple wanted to buy the farm, but they had no money. The Johanson’s decided to let the young couple work the farm, on a profit sharing arrangement. The young man was local and they knew he would keep the farm up in good shape and they would have income, coming  from the farm. Most of the equipment was left on the farm for the young couple to use, You might say it was a turn key operation.

The Johanson’s found a nice apartment in a senior retirement area, and the transition was easily made by them, as they had many old retired friends who were living there.

Nelson moved to one of the larger cities in the area and found work and a place to live, he had grown into a handsome young fellow and he had caught the eye of many young ladies. One in particular, Let’s call her Mary, for the sake of a name, and she had really became interested and thought to herself, “This guy is for me”.

They were together most of the time. He spent a few nights at her place  and she would spent many nights at his. She gave Nelson every opportunity to take advantage of her, but he was always a gentleman, when ever he was with her. At times, she would ask him to stay the night, and She would show him naughty movies, but he still rolled over and went to sleep. Something was missing in Nelson and she didn’t know what to do about it. A Doctor suggested taking Nelson to the Zoo, so he could watch the animals mate, and this is what they did for a number of weeks.

The next time she went to see Nelson, he was gone and no one knew where he had gone to. It was about a month later, when she received a letter from one of the Zoo Keepers, asking her to come and see him.

It seams that the Zoo had gotten a young female Orangutan, that was just right for breeding. It appeared that Nelson had watched her and taken an active interest in her. Soon, the Orangutang was pregnant and gave birth to a baby, who is being called Monkey Boy.  People were coming from everywhere to see him.  The baby looked somewhat like Nelson. The Zoo keeper wanted to ask Mary, a few questions about Nelson.

Now! I never said what you thought you read in the paragraph above. Sometimes, people think they know what the writer was going to say and they add a few words their own.

I heard that Nelson was back, and he and Mary were together again. What ever it was that Nelson was missing, it looked like he had found it. Nelson was living with Mary and missing work most of the time. He never wanted to get out of bed anymore and poor Mary was about worn out.

The couple who were working the farm, moved on to a better life, so Nelson and Mary are back on the farm. Mary is back in good health and Nelson is whistling all the time when working. All the animals are walking tall, The birds are singing louder than ever and the fields are green with life.

Now what can we do about your problem?
