"To the Devil, Stop Pushing"

I woke this morning, feeling kind of depressed, It must be the snow and blowing snow from last night and yesterday. Usually, when I wake, I have to make a quick dash to the bath room, before I spring a leak. Well I got there in time and settled in, but nothing happened. I thought to myself, now what, is this the way it happens?  Once seated, I decided to stay a little longer, but after 10 minutes or so, I gave up.

Back to my bed side and I sat down on the edge of it. Then that urge came again and I made it to the bath room in record time, Again nothing ,happened! I stood up, stuck my thumbs in the elastic waist band of my shorts and pulled them outwards, Bent my head forward and looked down, inside my shorts, It was dark down there and I couldn’t see a thing. I let go of the elastic waist band, waiting for it to snap back on my stomach, but nothing was felt.

On farther inspection, I learned that the waist had come apart, and my shorts were now resting around my ankles on the floor. About that time, the wife takes another turn, in the bath room. I was lucky enough to have
.
a container close by, and I thought the jug was going to over flow. Some one was watching over me, as the accident never happened.

That was when the phone rang, the caller ID said it was the VA Hospital. I picked up the phone and said “Hello”, and repeated that a dozen times or more, but got no answer. I hung up and called the hospital back, It rang and before I could say anything, I heard this click and then a dial tone. I called back a second, third and forth time and got a busy signal. I decided to let them call back, as they usually do!  Later we tried to call out and the phone was dead.

I thought to myself, if this is the way the day is going to be, I’ll just go back to bed, which I did.  At 5;00 pm my wife was shaking my foot, to tell me  that supper was ready. She informed me that the phone was working again and that the phone company had called, asking what our problem was. I told her the cat may have been eating the phone cord, she told me the phone didn’t belong to the company, it was a private phone, get a new one or have it repaired.  During the next few minutes of conversation, she threatened to have the phone disconnected. I told her go ahead. I’ll get a new cell phone. That was when she started telling me about all the companies products. I said; good by and hung up, but she called right back and continued the sales pitch.

This time, I left the phone laying on the counter with the busy signal flashing.  Later, I picked it up and she was still there, As soon as she heard that activated tone, she stared talking again. So, if you try to call us, we may not be able to received your call.

I went down to the phone company, to make a complaint. Did you know there are no people working there !  They have a row of phones for one to use, you pick one and listen to the menu that tells you what button to press next.

It’s either Smoke Signals or pounding on a hollow log, can’t decide which.

Hello,      is there any one out there ?
