As kids, we all loved to throw items in the water and watch it float away and disappear. You never get away from that feeling and you will do it over and over, when no one is watching.
Have you ever wondered where does all that stuff end up anyway? When we were young, we all knew it would go all the way to the ocean and maybe land on the shores of a country far away. Something like putting a note in a bottle and waiting for an answer. If you wanted an answer, why didn’t you put a return address on the note? You really didn’t expect an answer to that note, did you?
Most kids, like to toss rocks into the water, they listen for the sounds that heavy rocks make ( cur-plunk) as opposed to the sounds of little rocks make. When my boys were grown up, they found a small stream in a valley Not far away and decided to block the water flow, to make a swimming hole. They, with the help of some of their friends, worked on it every day for a number of weeks. When they finished, they had a pond, twenty five feet wide by at least seventy-five feet long and about five feet deep. The sun hardly ever shinned on the water and it was as cold as ice. They all played in it all summer long and they reluctantly gave up their swimming hole when winter arrived.
The following year, they were all anxious get back to their swimming hole And found that it needed a lot of work done to it, before it could be used again. They enlisted more friend to help and before very long, a large number of people knew about the pond in that valley. It was good that it was a hard place to get to and that stopped a lot of people from using it.
Winter came once again. That spring the boys gathered once more to work on their old swimming hole. This time a road, had been repaired and opened that went right past the pond. It seems that everyone that passed by, would stop and throw rocks in the pond. It was so full of rocks and other stuff, it was useless to try to restore it.
So, Now you know, not everything thrown in to a stream will make it as far as the ocean. Now, if you want to swim, you have to go to a swimming pool. This will never replace the pond in the creek and you will never have as much fun. And one more thing, You can never go swimming without a Swimming suit in a public pool.
Some people work hard and enjoy the fruits of their labor, Others enjoy destroying what others have built! Its Man verse Man verse earth and Earth will win in the end. Nothing will last forever, Love what you can for as long as you can and be thankful. You will still have to keep an eye on the other guys, as you never know what they are going to do.
Of course there is always that one solution, put them in a gunny sack, tie a rope to the sack, tie the other end of the rope to a rock, and toss it all into deep water.. Never tell anyone what you have done and remember, I never told you what to do!
