A Little girl with a very special doll

A name for the little girl in not necessary, since the story is about her doll. However, we will call the little girl Dorothy and the doll should have a name for a reference point also. Any name would do, but I kind of like “ Tasha” so we will call the doll Tusha .

Tasha was a beautiful doll, she stood about eighteen inches tall. Had long beautiful soft hair. The kind where if you were to touch it, you never wanted to let go. Her clothing was of the finest material, were fit to outline her prefect body. What took everyone’s attention was the blue jeans that were made for her. Dorothy loved this doll more than anything else. Where ever she went the doll went with her. The doll sat at the table in a special chair that was made just for her. The doll slept with the little girl every night. They were inseparable no matter where you saw them.

One night they went to bed and were pretending to make plans for the following day, there was laughter and chatter and they were having a great time before falling asleep. The following morning the little girl awoke with a fever. She asked for her doll, but the doll was missing from her bed. No one in the house knew where the doll was and a search was began. Hour after hour had gone by and the little girl kept crying for her doll. But it could not be found anywhere within the house. The parents tried everything to sooth the little girls feelings, but nothing they did helped.

No unknown person had been in the house and no one in the house had seen the doll after the little girl took it to bed with her. But the search was continued and that is all that was talked about for a number of days. The little girl finally stopped crying but she was lost in her own little world and never said a thing. She wouldn’t eat, sleep or do anything. The family doctor was called in and there was nothing he could do to bring her back to normality.

Somehow, someone got into the house and stole the doll. The police were called in and an investigation was started. A reward was offered, but the weeks had gone by and there was no clues that came into view.

Many months later, it was reported that the doll was seen in a bar, on a shelf behind the counter. A detective was sent to the scene and the proprietor told him yes, the doll had been there and his business had increased one hundred percent, so he thought he would say nothing. When his customers saw the doll, they became so happy and were so generous. No laws were being broken, no crimes in connection with the bar, no fights had broken out, There was peace at the bar which was once a very trouble-some place. There was a secret power in that doll, especially in the designers blue Jeans that she wore.

But now the doll had been taken once again. A larger amount of money was offered’ by Dorothy’s family for the reward, enough to get a larger public interested. Reports were coming is from near and far and it was taking up a lot of the police’s time. Then it all slowed to nothing and then stopped.

One day the Dorothy’s family took her for a drive in the country and they drove by a number of farms and even stopped at a few. One farmer said he had a little girl about the same size and age as Dorothy and she has been in a hospital for a long time, just wasn’t getting any better. Dorothy’s parents thought if they could take Dorothy to see the farmer’s little girl, it might do some good. So arrangements were made with the hospital and the following Sunday the young ladies met. They talked with each other and were getting along just fine.

In the next room, in the children’s section, another young girl was getting ready to leave the hospital and she had a doll that was much like this missing doll, “Tasha”. The moment that Dorothy seen this doll, she knew it was hers. She “Tasha” was dressed differently, but Dorothy knew it was her doll. After a discussion with the parents of both girls and the hospital staff, a nurse had said the doll was given to the hospital for the children’s ward. Then the doll was loaned to this young lady in the next room and that girl started to get better.

Of course the staff had removed the dolls clothing for cleaning. When hey brought the blue Jeans back and put them on the doll, everyone could see just how special the doll was. It drew whistles from the men, and eye brows were raised be the women. There were cheers all over, as the news was spread in the hospital, The doll was returned to Dorothy and after talking with her parents, Dorothy was willing to leave

Tasha with the farmer’s daughter for a time. The young lady regained her health and went home and Tasha was returned to Dorothy. Now if you think this is about the end of the story, who knows, I don’t know myself as yet!

Dorothy and her family, including the doll, were all back home and things were getting back to normal for them. Then one day, a Aunt, a sister of Dorothy’s mother came to visit. She was asking a number of question about the doll and if they were doing anything different as preventive measure to protect the little ones doll. Of course no one thought that was unusual, she being a family member. However, a house key was missing. This was reported to the police and they decided to patrol the area more during the nights.

On one of these nights, the patrolman noticed a car going around in the area, after midnight, He decided to park the patrol car and watch the house. It wasn’t long before the car came speeding out of the alley drove away much too fast. The patrol car followed and stopped the car and made the driver get out of the car. It was a women in her mid thirties that weighted around 155 pounds, short and rather tubby looking. The officer put handcuff on her wrists and took her to the police station. When they towed the car, that she was driving to the impound lot, the doll was found in the back seat of the car. After questioning, they learned that she was a sister to the little girl’s mother. When she was asked why she stole the doll, she said: she was jealous of that doll.

The doll looked so much like the way she had always wanted to look. The doll was everything that the sister wasn’t. She would become very disturbed when she seen and heard how people would carry on, about the little girl and her doll.

The family were call to the police station and they were confused, why would an Aunt do this to her niece and they never had any idea that the sister felt this way about how she looked. And they questioned if the sister needed to see someone about her mental health. No charges were made and the women was sent to a rest home for observation.

With help, the women was released from the rest home and back into society. Dorothy has grown and still has her doll named Tasha, It is hard to say which is the prettiest now, Dorothy or Tasha!
