"Road Rage"

A Judge sat at his bench in the county court house, The court is called to order as he reads the briefs that were placed in front of him. He looks up at the Prosecuting attorney, then back down at the papers. With a deep sigh he ask the Prosecuting and Defense attorneys to step up to the bench. He says; What is this crap, it is unbelievable! The Attorney for the defense responds: Yes Your Honor, I had a hard time believing it myself.

Then the Prosecutor addressed the Jury to explain what this case is about. The Judge told the jury what their responsibility is in this trial. We have seven maybe eight people suing one and other, listen carefully to what each of them say’s, then use that information to state your verdict!

Then the prosecutor starts to address the court, Your Honor and Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, At twelve fifteen p.m. on Friday, December 22nd. in the year of 2008. Miss Smith was driving her car, a 1999 Special Mobile, south on high way 44 going past the Mac Curry Air Port. Mrs. Smith had driven her husband to the Mac Curry air port as he was flying his own airplane to another city.

Mrs. Smith was driving a new 2008 Ford pickup truck and following at least five car lengths behind Miss Smith. Miss Smith was driving past the air port slowly, when Mrs. Smith tried to pass Miss Smith in her vehicle.

While passing Miss Smith, Mrs. Smith noticed that Miss Smith was talking on her cell phone and trying to apply makeup at the same time. Mrs. Smith, knowing that this is very dangerous, she honked her horn to get Miss Smith attention and moved he finger from one side to the other, indicating that this was not to be done while driving! ” The sound of the horn, apparently startled Miss Smith causing her to jerk her steering wheel to the right and almost running off the road. Then Mrs. Smith waved to Miss Smith while driving on down the road. It appears the Miss Smith thought Mrs. Smith was giving her the Finger sign and that made Miss Smith very angry. Miss Smith gave chase and had gotten much too close to the pickup truck being driven by Mrs. Smith!

Miss Smith applied her brakes, but not fast enough and her car struck Mrs. Smith’s pickup truck just behind the right rear wheel, causing it to skid sideways, down into the bar pit and through the fence that goes around the Air Port. Mrs., Smith was thrown from her pickup truck as she did not have her seat belt on.

The pickup truck continued onto the runway and collided with an Air Plane, being flown by Mr. Smith, Mrs. Smith’s husband. Mrs., Smith was running to see if she could help her husband, while Miss Smith was giving chase and managed to tackle Mrs. Smith and getting her to the ground.

Fire trucks and ambulances were arriving as Miss Smith and Mrs. Smith were involved in a hair pulling contest. A fireman, on one of the fire trucks was the boy friend of Miss Smith, and he got involved in the Altercation.

The Fire Chief told the ( Boy friend) fireman to stay out of this situation, but the boyfriend started to exchange fist swinging with Mrs. Smith. That was when the Fire Chief told the fireman That he was fired. This in turn made the rest of the fire crew angry and they refused to fight the fire.

The Air plane was burning and the pilot ( Mr. Smith was still inside. ) Mrs. Smith grabbed the fire hose and was running toward the air plane to put out the fire. This is where the Law became involved, as Mrs. Smith did not have a license or was she trained to fight a fire. But mostly she was charged with using bad words while yelling at everyone standing there.

Let me add, Miss Smith is not related to any of the other Smiths there and she comes from California. She yelled so loud that her voice broke the sound barrier and echoed back a number of times. It was getting late, so the Judge ordered a recess until tomorrow at ten a.m.

At ten a.m. the next day, the court was called to order and the Judge also called for a short recess, He ordered both the Prosecutor and the Defense, into his chambers. Shortly there after, the court was back in session.

The case went on and on for almost three weeks. At the end, the judge retired the jury to the jury room and instructed them to find and return with a verdict.

The Verdict was “every one was guilty” But the charges against Miss Smith were dropped. There was no law in this state against using a cell phone while driving and she did not have any makeup on when she was arrested.

Five of the six cases are to be retried and there were two convictions, One was the Boy Friend and the other one was Mr. Smith, the husband flying the air craft, He had forgotten to renew his License,

Okay Mother, you can come and tuck me in now.
